Kourabiedes — pronounced koo-rah-bee-EH-thez — are buttery almond shortbread biscuits, finished with a snowdrift of icing sugar and just a whisper of brandy. Traditionally a Greek Easter and Christmas treat: when Lent finally ends and indulgence is officially back on the menu.
Soft, crumbly, melt-in-the-mouth, and a perfect companion to tea or coffee. There’s a reason that every time we lay them out, an entire batch disappears in minutes.
